Shanti Foundation is community based nonprofit organization working to promote the health, safety and protection of vulnerable and high-risk women and children. It is being established and operated by trafficking survivors and GBV survivors, HIV infected and affected women and health care researcher promoting the health, safety, and protection of vulnerable and high-risk women, children and communities.

Hamro Samman project is a five-year project generously supported by the American people through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the British people through the United Kingdom’s Department for International Development (UK aid) and implemented by Winrock International. Its goal is to reduce the prevalence of trafficking in persons (TIP) in 10 districts of Nepal using the ‘4Ps’ framework – Prevention, Protection, Prosecution and Partnership. Hamro Samman project will bring together various stakeholders and implementing partners to reduce the prevalence of trafficking in persons through three objectives:

Objective 1: Strengthening federal, provincial and local Government of Nepal (GON) efforts to combat TIP;
Objective 2: Improving Civil Society Organization (CSO) advocacy and engagement to address TIP; and
Objective 3: Increasing private sector partnerships (PSPs) to service TIP survivors and at-risk populations

Shanti Foundation is currently working in two targets districts namely Makwanpur and Kathmandu and looking for following experienced and dynamic team players for the aforementioned project and district on the contract basis which is renewable thereafter subject to satisfactory performance and available fund. Shanti Foundation is recurring the following position to contribute in the implementation of its project.

Minimum Requirements:

• Fluent in reading, writing & speaking English
• Good reporting and communication skills
• Proficient in all aspect of computer application (Ms Office)
• Must have familiar with Accounting Software
• Good team player with excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in the pressure environment
• Teamwork and work under pressure

Minimum Qualification:

• At least Bachelor’s in management, Business administration or others related field
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience in the similar position in I/NGO field (Prior experience under USAID funded projects is added value)

Job Description

Admin and Finance Officer will closely work with the Admin and Finance Coordinator, to release the payments, follow-up settlement of travel and other advances ensuring the existing compliances, local laws, policy and procedure of Shanti Foundation remaining within the grant agreement for Hamro Samman project.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct day to day finance function, including banking, and petty cash management and produce monthly reconciliation statement, collection and payment of relevant taxes to local authorities, PF settlement and other finance related tasks.
• Adhere to government tax compliances while making payment for vendor, stakeholders and consultant, employees etc. and keep up to date information and implementation on the tax rules.
• Collect the invoice/bills, verify if necessary and make payment on time by prevailing the financial rules and regulation.
• Prepare journal/Vouchers and record with necessary approvals and signatures.
• Prepare tax deposit slip to deposit taxes in Inland Revenue Office in time.
• Prepare payroll sheets every month according to the employee contracts
• Prepare of proper filling system for easy reference and auditing propose
• Engage in procurement process and ensure the process is complying with organization’s Rules and Regulations.
• Maintain Personnel files.
• Ensure the proper financial procedures, reporting requirements and systems are maintained in compliance to the financial & administrative policies of Shanti Foundation.
• Prepare financial reports throughout the year for various audiences including donors and others as per need and directed.
• Responsible yearly audit process as per instructions from donor agencies and fiscal year audit of Shanti Foundation.
• Any other finance related duties as may be assigned by line manager.
